The Detroit Lions are riding high at 5-1 after a Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings, but some bad news came on Monday night. ESPN's Eric Woodyard reported wide receiver Jameson Williams is facing a two-game suspension due to a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy.

An official announcement from the league hasn't yet come as of this writing, but head coach Dan Campbell acknowledged Williams' upcoming absence during his appearance on 97.1 The Ticket Tuesday morning.

"I can't really say anything about it until the league gives judgement and it comes out on their end. I'm not supposed to really comment on it," Campbell said. "All I can tell you is we're prepared to not have him. And we'll be fine, that's why we've got (Kalif Raymond) and Saint and (Sam) LaPorta and T.P. (Tim Patrick) and Allen Robinson, among other things with David Montgomery and (Jahmyr) Gibbs. We'll be fine. We'll move on. This thing comes down, if it does, when it comes down, we'll be fine."

Williams adds an element to the Lions' offense that is uniquely his and doesn't always show up in his stats. There's no easy way to replace that, but the Lions will have to do without Williams in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans and Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers as thing stand right now.

Detroit Lions WR depth chart during Jameson Williams' suspension

In the simplest fashion to start, let's look at the Lions wide receiver depth chart with Williams (h/t to Ourlads).

Outside (left): Tim Patrick, Allen Robinson
Outside (right): Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond
Slot: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Isaiah Williams

The most obvious Lions' wide receiver who's in line for a bigger role during Williams' suspension is Patrick. He has emerged as the ideal Josh Reynolds replacement the team was seeking, and on Monday Campbell again commented how good a fit he has been.

"I’ve said it before, Tim Patrick has been an excellent addition for us," Campbell said, via Richard Silva of the Detroit News. "That guy, we desperately needed somebody like him, and he fits the mold of everything we’re looking for. He rounds that receiver room out."

According to Pro Football Focus, Patrick has averaged 21.6 snaps per game lined up outside and eight snaps per game in the slot over his five games as a Lion. Williams' respective numbers there this season are 39.2 and 12 snaps per game. Patrick will naturally fill some of that void.

Raymond's physical profile screams "slot receiver", but can play inside and outside and he has seven catches on 10 targets with a touchdown over the last two games. It felt like he played more than 16 snaps against the Vikings in Week 7, but he should see an uptick in offensive snaps and a continuation of his recent involvement while Williams is suspended.

Robinson has been on the Lions' 53-man roster since after he played one snap in his Lions' debut (Week 3), playing nine snaps in the one game he has seen action. He's in line to play more with Williams suspended, though how much more is to-be-determined.

On the practice squad, the Lions have wide receivers Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tom Kennedy as options to be elevated to the game day roster while Williams is suspended.
