NFC East

Dallas 5-3

At 3-0, they were Super Bowl bound. At 3-3, the sky was falling. The much more boring truth is that the Cowboys look like a slightly above average NFL team. In this division they don’t even need to be that…just a little bit better than Philly. A 37-10 romp in the first rivalry meeting suggests that they are.

Philadelphia 5-4

After an upcoming Patriots/Seahawks schedule gauntlet, Philly will be heavily favored in four of their final five games. That 5th one (home vs Dallas) will likely decide the division title and the Eagles’ playoff fate.

New York Giants 2-7

When he was coming out of college, I tried to shut down the comparisons of Saquon Barkley to Barry Sanders. Here’s where I’ll concede that they’re similar: at some point, Saquon is going to get sick of being a great running back on a bad team.

Washington 1-8

Sorry if you’re interested in Washington, I don’t even have two sentences to say about what’s going on over there. Football in the nation’s capital is going about as well as its political climate right now, put it that way.

If I had to make a prediction… Dallas will edge out Philly for the division title, then use homefield advantage to knock out a superior team in the Wild Card round. The NFC East will remain the most boring division in the NFL over the second half of the season
