NFC West

San Francisco 8-0

Seriously, who saw this one coming? Playing in the most stacked division (rumors that it was the NFC North have turned out to be unsubstantiated), the 49ers have leaned heavily on rejuvenated defense to somehow be the last remaining undefeated team. Nick Bosa is a Defensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner, and Jimmy Garoppolo is simultaneously both over and underrated. With that said, a backloaded schedule leaves room for 4 or 5 losses during the final two months.

Seattle 7-2

It hasn’t been pretty at times, but the ‘Hawks continue to stack wins like Scrooge McDuck does gold coins. Heading down to the Golden Gate next Monday Night will determine whether Seattle stacks up as a contender for the #1 seed in the NFC.

L.A. Rams 5-3

After reaching the Super Bowl a year ago, the Rams are something of a forgotten threat in the West. They’ll have a hard time getting back in the division race, but a return trip to the playoffs is still very much in play, despite a quiet first half to the season.

Arizona 3-5-1

Kyler Murray is definitely exciting and gives plenty of reason for future optimism out in Glendale. Still, he’s a rookie QB without enough help on the roster and in too tough of a division to get the Cardinals to .500 this year.

If I had to make a prediction… Seattle wins the division, Russell Wilson is edged out by Lamar Jackson for MVP, and the Cardinals play spoiler in Week 17 to eliminate the Rams.
