Kiko Alonso or Raekwon McMillan, LBs – Miami Dolphins

Like the Oakland Raiders last year, the Miami Dolphins are apparently having a fire sale with several of their star players rumored to be on the trading block. And the man at the heart of these changes, new head coach Brian Flores, is a former member of the New England Patriots’ staff who spent years alongside Lions’ general manager Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia.

With the injury suffered by Jarrad Davis in the Lions’ third preseason game, Detroit’s linebacker corps is in need of a boost.

Although Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Miles Killebrew performed well in the preseason, Patricia covets bigger linebackers like second-round selection Jahlani Tavai.

Both Dolphin linebackers Kiko Alonso (6-3, 239) and Raekwon McMillan (6-2, 242) fit the bill.

Alonso is a six-year veteran who has posted 100+ tackles in four of his first five seasons. (Alonso missed the entire 2014 season due to an ACL injury).

McMillan was a second-round selection out of Ohio State in 2017. An ACL injury robbed him of his entire rookie season.

McMillan bounced back last year to record 105 tackles as a full-16 game starter. Either linebacker would provide Detroit with quality depth, or possibly even a Day One starter.
