On the Detroit Lions 2023 regular season schedule, here are five games with a revenge game angle that’s worth noting.

Now that we know the Detroit Lions 2023 regular season schedule, it can be sliced and analyzed in any way you can think of. Straight out game-by-game predictions. Most important games. Games that should be comfortably marked as wins. Ranking (insert position) the Lions will face this season.

But here, as the title gives away, we’re taking it to revenge games. A worthy hat-tip goes to Adam Rank of NFL.com for the inspiration, and the inclusion of the Lions on his list of revenge games for the 2023 season. But that was really a jumping off point to extend to at least one other “revenge game” on the Lions’ schedule this year.

The definition of a revenge game is obvious, but still worth a clarification for anyone who might need it. It’s a player going against his former team. Maybe a coach going against a team that fired him. It’s a shot at a piece of redemption for those who have been scorned, to show who didn’t want you what they could still have. It’s an opportunity to prove you are clearly better than who you were replaced with too, as a twist of the metaphorical, regret-dipped (for the team that let you go), knife.
