In a time that is economically and politically frustrating , not to mention depressing, Coach Tom Izzo has given us something special.
Around 6 years ago they Announced that the NCAA Final Four would be at Ford Field; It seemed so very far away and distant. Fortunately for this state and city being granted this honor, we have something special about 75 miles from here… We have Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans Mens Basketball team. 5 Final Fours in 10 years and one National Title.
Don’t get it twisted, going to the Final Four is a *BIG* Deal. Schools put [...]

We’ll keep this up unless we get threatened by the team.
It appears that we’ve joined the CFL
Much thanks to the Black and Teal Jaguars crew for the heads up!

It’s a “new” logo… They added a brush stroke here and there and gave bubbles a face. I don’t like the letters like that, I prefer the block letters in black and blue they were using in 2005. But it is all a matter of preference in the end, right?
The changes are at best asinine, we’ll see how it all looks when its put together in a uniform.

The Detorit Lions Lost Shaun Cody to free agency this week as he signed a 3 year deal with the Houston Texans.
Look to your right… Laugh Out Loud… Repeat.
It’s not exactly a huge loss, but I think the team is going to feel it. It’s not like we are a deep team to begin with and Cody, though not exactly pro-bowl caliber, is a decent addition in the way of depth. He was our second round pick in 2005. If you’ve ever heard him give a radio interview, Cody is a really nice guy and gives a good interview. [...]

im a cowboys fan, but i wanted a lions fans opinion…why doesnt detroit offer up their second round pick (#33) for Jay Cutler? the chiefs got cassel for less, so the QB trade value is down this year. then, yall could go Jason Smith or another OT with #1 and a DE at #20? the DB’s are upgraded already with Henry and Buchanon, and JP in the LB corps instant upgrade…if Laurinitus or Maualuga are there at 20, grab them, but Robert Ayers or a Paul Kruger-type also fills the all-purpose DE yall need…what do you think
This was in my [...]

With the draft shaping up more and more to look like a quarterback is going to happen, I’m starting to feel that the only way Stanton is going to stay a Lion is if the team acquires Cutler (somehow, some way). If you manage to finagle Cutler, he’s clearly going to be the stater, he’s young and he’s talented and in a situation like that where you’re putting him on a ‘fresh start’ team, you hand him the keys and let him take a leadership role over the next few years in the interest of building from the ground up. [...]

Dare a Lions fan dream?
There are 2 major factors in our way from acquiring Jay Cutler:
1.) Denver is going to want a viable quarterback to utilize no matter what deal they make. They aren’t coming off of a trash can season in Denver, despite the head coaching turnover they were only one game out of the playoffs last season. In this situation, we have little to offer. Well… We have less than little… we have NOTHING. Had Matt Stafford or Sanchez really managed to stand out, this story would be playing out very differently. Stafford looked good… But not Peyton [...]

From Espn.com
Lions defensive tackle Cory Redding has been traded to Seattle for linebacker Julian Peterson.
The Lions also are sending the Seahawks a fifth-round draft choice to complete the deal.
Redding signed a seven-year, $47.8 million contract to stay in Detroit in 2007, when the team decided to move him from defensive end. Former Lions coach Rod Marinelli believed Redding would be able to help the “three-technique” defensive tackle format.
Though Redding didn’t produce the desired sacks, he is considered a talented, developing player who is still in his prime.
In acquiring Peterson, the Lions are getting a Pro Bowl-caliber linebacker who can get [...]

So we’re doing a network-wide 64 crap head tournament of all the disasters that have been drafted by the teams that we cover.
For a Lions fan, this is indeed a daunting task.
Do I go with the guys that Millen drafted and they aren’t even playing pro-ball anymore? Or do I go with the guys that we had a lot riding on and they completely let us down?
Seeing as I’m competing with the crappiest of the crappy, I’m going to go with the biggest dirty flops.
Charles Rogers: Number One on our “three years, three wide receivers”, Charles showed a LOT Of [...]

I have this terrible feeling that they’ll announce along with their agreement with Matt Stafford, making him the first overall choice in the NFL Draft.
The Lions have arranged a staff workout with Stafford; This is a disaster waiting in the wings and ESPN has the stats to prove it.
