As we do every week before getting to that week's Detroit Lions best bets, let's see how Week 16's best bets did.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Over 3.5 receptions (+114, DraftKings, +104, FanDuel): 4 receptions
WR Jameson Williams, Anytime touchdown (+400, FanDuel; +370, DraftKings): 0 touchdowns
QB Jared Goff, Over 0.5 interceptions (+104, FanDuel; +110, Draft Kings): 0 interceptions

It was almost an 0-for-3 on the best bets in Week 16, but Gibbs saved the betting slip from that fate.

It's on to Week 17, as the Lions will take on the Dallas Cowboys on the road with the Saturday night stage. The hosts have now bumped back up to being 5.5 (FanDuel sportsbook) or six-point (DraftKings sportsbook) favorites as of Saturday morning, with an over/under of 52.5 points at both of the aforementioned sites.

With the sportsbook you can find them at noted, here are out three best Lions bets for Week 17.

Best Detroit Lions bets for Week 17 at Dallas Cowboys

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Anytime touchdown (+105, FanDuel; +100, DraftKings)

Gibbs has four rushing touchdowns and five total touchdowns over the last three games, so we're doubling up with one of our Week 17 props here. The Cowboys run defense has been suspect, and quite simply Gibbs is a hot hand that's hard to turn away from with the right bets right now.

Lions, +6 (-115, DraftKings)

Of the Cowboys' seven home wins this season, one has been by six points or less (and it was by exactly six points). But they have also beaten up on some bad teams at home (New York Jets, New York Giants, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders).

The Lions are either the second or third-best team Dallas has played at home this season, and they did blow out the Philadelphia Eagles a few weeks ago. A six-point spread is just too rich for me though, and betting the Lions to cover that over on Draft Kings is too easy. Betting them at +5.5 on FanDuel Sportsbook (-112) is one to consider too.

RB David Montgomery, Over 13.5 Rushing Attempts (+100, DraftKings)

Gibbs is certainly the hottest hand in the Lions' backfield right now, but Montgomery has not totally gone away. Even some reduced snap shares (less than 40 percent in three of the last five games), he has 17 carries in each of the last two games and at least 15 carries in four of those five.

As noted by Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire, the Cowboys' run defense has been bad on 1st-and-10 this season (4.98 yards per carry allowed; 31st in the league), and that has been worse over their last five games (5.8 yards per carry allowed).

No matter what Gibbs does, Montgomery is lined up for a good share of the workload on Saturday night. Over 13.5 carries at plus-money on DraftKings is a bet I can't turn away from.
