Before diving into Week 16's Detroit Lions best bets, let's see how Week 15's bets did.

RB David Montgomery, Over 14.5 Rush Attempts (-130, DraftKings): 17 carries
TE Sam LaPorta, Anytime touchdown (+165, FanDuel; +100, DraftKings): 3 touchdowns
WR Jameson Williams, Longest reception, Over 13.5 yards (-110, FanDuel): Long reception of 18 yards

For some reason, an anytime touchdown bet on LaPorta against basically the worst defense in the league against tight ends was solid plus-money. The others were a little more aggressive, and they hit.

In Week 16 the Lions will travel to take on the Minnesota Vikings, with a chance to clinch the NFC North. Detroit is a 3-point favorite on FanDuel and DraftKings sportsbooks, with one of the highest over-under totals on the NFL slate this week (47 points-FanDuel and 47.5 points-DraftKings).

Via the sportsbook as noted, here are our best Lions bets for Week 16.

Detroit Lions best bets for Week 16 at Minnesota Vikings

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Over 3.5 receptions (+114, DraftKings, +104, FanDuel)

Going back to the well with one of our prop bets for this week.

The Vikings have allowed 77 receptions to running backs this season (tied for fifth-most in the league), on 82 targets (a 93.9 percent completion rate). They have allowed just 5.8 yards per catch to running backs (third-best in the league), but it's also fair to say the Vikings have not faced a receiving threat out of the backfield quite like Gibbs.

Gibbs' role in the passing game has fallen off a little lately, with eight targets and six catches over the last three games. But if there's a game to get that back going, it's Sunday against the Vikings and their blitz-heavy defensive scheme. Expect Gibbs to see plenty of quick, short-area targets from Jared Goff, and the over on 3.5 receptions is an easy bet.

WR Jameson Williams, Anytime touchdown (+400, FanDuel; +370, DraftKings)

Williams set career-highs for targets (seven) and snap share (68 percent) in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos, as his increase in playing time finally yielded a noticeable difference in his usage.

Pro Football Focus pointed out Williams' favorable matchup this week, with the likelihood Vikings' cornerback Byron Murphy would be primarily shadowing him. Murphy is out on Sunday due to a knee injury, so that matchup gets even better for Williams as Minnesota moves down their cornerback depth chart.

Receptions and yardage bets on Williams this week are low enough to be enticing, but I'll just go simple and take an anytime touchdown at nice plus-money.

QB Jared Goff, Over 0.5 interceptions (+104, FanDuel; +110, Draft Kings)

Going a little negative here. But Goff's history against defenses run by Vikings' defensive coordinator Brian Flores is rough, to say the least, and prior to last week's big bounce-back Goff had nine turnovers over four games.

This doesn't mean the Lions will lose on Sunday, or Goff will play badly overall. But it only takes one interception to cash this bet, and at a little bit of plus-money I couldn't ignore it.
