Best Detroit Lions bets for Week 10 at Los Angeles Chargers

The Week 9 bye week provided a week off from Detroit Lions bets, and maybe a welcome reset. Before we get back in the game with Week 10's best bets, let's look at how Week 8's bets did.

A good week to go into the bye week on. But we don't rest on our betting laurels here, so it's on to Week 10 as the Lions will travel to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The point spread is close, with a high over-under, so there's surely a wide swath of betting options.

Via the sportsbook noted, here are our three best Detroit Lions bets for Week 10.

Best Detroit Lions bets for Week 10 vs. Chargers

TE Sam LaPorta Parlay: Over 4.5 Receptions, Anytime Touchdown (+250, FanDuel)

The over on 4.5 catches for LaPorta is appealing (-136, FanDuel; -130, DraftKings), as is an anytime touchdown (+180, FanDuel; +175, DraftKings). But as a nice plus-money parlay on FanDuel, it's hard to turn down.

LaPorta has at least five receptions in five of eight games this season, with four touchdowns on the season. In Week 8, he had a season-high three red zone targets. The Chargers have also been among the most generous to tight ends in everything but the touchdown column this year, and it's a great matchup for Detroit's passing game as a whole.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, 75-Plus Rushing and Receiving Yards (+175, DraftKings)

The sheer over on Gibbs' yards from scrimmage (58.5 on FanDuel and DraftKings, -114 and -115 respectively) is an appealing bet this week, but I'm going a little more aggressive here.

In a broad sense, the Chargers have been strong against the run this year. But accounting for passing game production they've been a little more generous to running backs. Gibbs has made a strong case for more touches even with David Montgomery back in the fold this week, and some of that will naturally come as a pass catcher.

Separate over bets (or a parlay) on Gibbs' rushing and receiving yards could work nicely. I just like the 75-plus total yardage alt bet on DraftKings, at nice plus money.

QB Jared Goff, 275-plus passing yards (+110, DraftKings; +100, FanDuel)

Goff has topped 270 passing yards in three straight games, and the Chargers have the league's worst pass defense entering Week 10 (286 yards allowed per game). Driven by sheer volume in a game that should be high-scoring (bet the over on Goff's pass attempts if it's below 35), Goff is line for another productive yardage day.

A parlay pairing a yardage bet with two or more passing touchdowns for Goff is in play. But let's just go simple on the yardage mark here.
