A couple of weeks ago, the Detroit Lions were hit with a serious legal situation at hand involving cornerback Terrion Arnold when the third-year pro was arrested on kidnapping and robbery charges.
Just a handful of days following Arnold's arrest, the Lions were quick to release Arnold. Despite his on-field pedigree as a recent first-round pick just back in 2024, Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell weren't going to make the wrong move in keeping him around.
After the Lions did the right thing, however, we have come to find out that Arnold has already had four teams reach out and show interest in his services.
According to Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press, Arnold's agent Nicole Lynn confirmed that the Houston Texans, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks have reached out in regards to the former Lion.
It hasn't even been a month following several serious charges and there are teams in the market for the one-time Alabama standout. But, we'll leave the legal side alone, here.
Assessing the four prospective teams interested in former Lions CB Terrion Arnold
The most intriguing option of these four has to be the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seahawks, of course.
Over the offseason, the Seahawks lost a couple of members to their secondary in cornerback Riq Woolen (signed with the Eagles) and safety Coby Bryant (signed with the Bears).
Josh Jobe and Devon Witherspoon will likely man the outside spots with the Swiss Army Knife, Nick Emmanwori, playing some slot. Maybe, Arnold catches on there and is able help out as a depth piece at either position.
The Colts are also interesting after they went out and traded for Sauce Gardner last year. Adding another former top pick in Arnold could only further their idea of trying to win a championship behind Daniel Jones and that offense, assuming health.
The Jets have an obvious connection with Arnold and former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who is now their head coach, of course. New York is a rebuilding team that has nothing else to lose at this point, other than more football games.
And then there's the Texans who have actually had Arnold in for a physical, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter, which makes their interest even more legitimate.
Beyond any of these potential fits is still the legal process which has to play out. Initially, the Lions saw it as serious enough to cut ties altogether, but somehow, he already has teams interested and could end up with another job before Week 1.
