Round Four: Andy Isabella, WR, University of Massachusetts

This is a guy that I’ve been extremely high on for a while now. His natural position is from the slot and he would solve the biggest problems the Lions had last year from their wide receivers: gaining separation downfield.

Isabella has excelled against top tier competition, not just lower level competition so I have no doubt he can produce in the NFL.

The only question I have with him is how often he uses his body to secure the football in a catch, often not reaching out and catching the ball with his hands away from his body. This is something I will be watching closely for when he goes through drills at the combine.

While it may not be a huge concern (because if you’re using him the right way you’re getting him the ball when he’s wide open), it is still not ideal for someone to body catch as often as he does. The Lions would do well to take Isabella is he if still available come round four or later.
