Golden Tate could be considered a WR No. 1 in a WR No. 2’s body. The former Fighting Irish stepped up big for the Lions in 2014 when Megatron was out or not up to full speed, putting up 1,300+ receiving yards.

His skill set is unique, with sure hands and great quickness, coupled with a dash of competitive arrogance. He also has good acceleration after the catch as can be elusive once in the open field.

While Tate’s value is a bit higher in PPR formats, one of his biggest downfalls is his lack of looks from quarterback Matthew Stafford in the redzone. Tate gained 35 catches from 2013 to 2014, but had one fewer touchdown, going from five to four.

The Lions offense has a way of making wideouts attractive no matter their flaws. If you can land Tate as a WR3, you’ve found a great one. Look for him to go in rounds four to five on your respective draft day.
