Ah, yes. Megatron.

Coming off a year that seen him miss three games due to an ankle injury, and a “down” season statistically, (1,077 receiving yards) Johnson’s draft stock has taken a bit of a hit. Further turning people away is his age, as he is now on the wrong side of 30 for an NFL superstar.

What he still is however, is big and fast with great hands. He is an excellent route runner and still makes ridiculous catches look routine.

With that in mind, as we look forward to 2015 there are a few key variables worth considering.

  1. It’s unlikely that he’ll play all 16 games.
  2. He’s still an excellent pick — at the right value.

Say what you will, but Megatron is no longer a first-round pick in fantasy football. Sure, some Lions fans and novice fantasy owners will wind up taking him there, but the round you should target him in is the second.

He still has what it takes to be the best receiver in fantasy football. But can he maximize that potential one more time?
