Since becoming a Detroit Lions a little over two weeks ago, Terrion Arnold has done nothing but prove he's going to be a great fit. On the first day of rookie minicamp on Friday, his quote about the competitiveness his mother instilled in him (appropriate with Mother's Day on Sunday) was the highlight of the day (for him or anyone else).
"If my mom was out here right now and lined up across from me as a receiver, I would jam her into the dirt. That’s just my mindset — and my mom knows that. Football-wise, that’s just the way I think, and the way that I was brought up.”
Arnold will hopefully make plenty of plays on the field over his career with the Lions, but he's looking to be a fun-loving quote machine for the media when the pads and helmets aren't on.
Media is not on the ground for Saturday and Sunday's rookie minicamp practices. But luckily the Lions social media team has picked up some slack.

Check out Arnold's first NFL interception.
Minicamp tryout player Kaden Davis has spent time with the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Michigan Panthers over the past two seasons, and he ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL Combine. But Arnold stays with him, and when Davis turned upfield Arnold closed in for the pick.
It's a short clip, only a rookie minicamp practice and the pass could have surely been thrown better. But little things can still show, and Arnold showed some base things that show up on his college tape (closing speed, ball skills, reading the receiver's eyes).
Last season at Alabama, Arnold had five interceptions (first in the SEC) and 12 pass breakups (second in the SEC). Pro Football Focus also credited him with the second-most forced incompletions among SEC cornerbacks last season.
This was Arnold's first NFL interception in any setting. But it shouldn't be the only, and plenty of those to come will land on an official stat sheet.
