The Detroit Lions have earned their spot in the NFC Championship Game and are now one of the final four teams left in the race for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Despite making it this far, oddsmakers and bettors still have little faith in the Lions. Of the four teams remaining, the Lions have by far the longest odds to win the Super Bowl. They're also set as significant underdogs to the 49ers in San Francisco.

Let's take a look at the opening odds for the upcoming NFC Championship.

Lions vs. 49ers opening odds, spread, and total

Lions open as touchdown underdogs

The Lions originally opened as 7-point touchdowns to the 49ers on Sunday night. As of Monday morning, the line moved half a point in the Lions' favor and they sat at +6.5. Since then, the line has shifted back towards the 49ers and has now returned to the opening number of 49ers -7.

That means in order for the Lions to cover the spread, they need to either win or loss by a fewer than seven points.

That's some major disrespect for the Lions, who won the NFC North and finished as the No. 3 seed in the NFC.

At +250 odds on the moneyline, sportsbooks are giving the Lions an implied probability of just 28.57% of beating the 49ers and advancing to Super Bowl 58.

If you think that's ridiculous, than you shouldn't hesitate to bet on Detroit.
