The Detroit Lions have had to wait an extra day for redemption after being dominated by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. But it does look like a nice rebound spot on Monday night, at home against a 3-4 Las Vegas Raiders' team that is worse than their record. The Lions' last home game was Week 5's 42-24 win over the Carolina Panthers, so it's been a bit since they've played at Ford Field.
The Lions have had to navigate a long list of injuries virtually on a weekly basis this season, and this week is no different.
Running back David Montgomery (ribs) missing his second straight game is not a surprise. But left guard Jonan Jackson (ankle) could be joined in street clothes by center Frank Ragnow, who is listed as doubtful for the game after adding a calf issue to his ongoing toe issue last week. Right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai is questionable with a back issue, which is of course notable because he missed all of last season with a back injury. Vaitai also missed a couple games earlier this season with a knee injury.
It's possible the Lions are without all three interior offensive line starters against the Raiders. They may have their seventh different starting offensive line combination in eight games this season, as the run of not having all five offensive line starters together during Dan Campbell's tenure continues. It happened in Week 1 this season, and it has not happened otherwise.
Defensive tackle Benito Jones (ankle), defensive lineman Josh Paschal (knee) and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (ankle) are also listed as questionable for Monday night's game.
Here are the Lions' inactives for Week 8 against the Raiders.
