Ahead of their game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, the Detroit Lions made some roster moves and updated their injury report for the game.

-Fullback Jason Cabinda has been placed on IR
-Linebacker Julian Okwara has been activated from IR
-Wide receiver Jameson Williams has been activated from the roster exemption list
-Wide receiver Dylan Drummond has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster

Cabinda has not seemed close to playing the last couple games, so his placement on IR is not surprising. Okwara was able to come off IR at any point now, and he has officially done so.

As expected, Williams has been activated from the commissioner's exempt list after having his six-game suspension reduced eight days ago. He will presumably be in uniform and make his 2023 season debut on Sunday, likely in a limited role.

Drummond was a training camp/preseason standout for the Lions. The undrafted rookie out of Eastern Michigan may suit up for his NFL debut on Sunday, with Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) listed as doubtful.

Detroit Lions downgrade a player on injury report for Sunday vs. Panthers

Dan Campbell cited Saturday morning as being important for St. Brown to be cleared to play. So he felt ripe for a Saturday downgrade-to out, of course.

The Lions did indeed downgrade a player on Saturday afternoon, but it was not St. Brown.

Gibbs popped on the injury report on Friday with a hamstring issue, and he was listed as questionable. Now he has been bumped down to doubtful, so it looks like certain he'll be out on Sunday. The fantasy football decision with him this week is now an absolute no-brainer, and he should be scratched from any betting slips. David Montgomery is in line for plenty of work against the Panthers' poor run defense, with Craig Reynolds and Zonovan Knight behind him if Gibbs is out.
