Detroit Lions announce dates for training camp practices open to public
The next thing on the NFL calendar is training camp. We already know when Detroit Lions players will report to Allen Park (rookies on July 20, veterans on July 23). The first camp practice will follow soon after, but the bigger questions for fans has been when they can attend camp practices.
On Tuesday, along the timeline we've always seen, the Lions announced nine training camp practices that will be open to fans. Three are exclusively for season ticket holders, as usual.
- Saturday, July 27 (8:30 a.m. ET)-Lions Loyalty members (season ticket holders) only
- Monday, July 29 (8:30 a.m. ET)
- Tuesday, July 30 (8:30 a.m. ET)
- Wednesday, July 31 (8:30 a.m. ET)
- Thursday, Aug. 1 (8:30 a.m. ET)
- Friday, Aug. 2 (8:30 a.m. ET)-Lions Loyalty members (season ticket holders) only
- Sunday, Aug. 11 (1:15 p.m. ET)
- Monday, Aug. 12 (6 p.m. ET)-Lions Loyalty members (season ticket holders) only
- Wednesday, Aug. 14 (8:30 a.m. ET)
The big gap from Aug. 2 to Aug. 11 is accounted for by the Lions' preseason opener being on the road against the New York Giants on Aug. 8. That game will be preceded by joint practices in New Jersey, so the Lions will be away from Allen Park for a stretch that week.
