Bill Simmons drops an epic season prediction for the Lions

This isn't just a Super Bowl prediction. It's much, much more.

After falling one game short of the Super Bowl last season, the Detroit Lions have more in mind this season.

And no, we're not talking about the Dan Campbell Applebee's commercial, although come on ... let's give the man some credit for one heck of an acting job.

With the season kicking off, everyone is turning in their predictions; some of them bold, some of them your standard practice. One analyst, though, just earned himself a few more fans. Bill Simmons ofThe Ringer recently went on record and talked about who he believes would win the Super Bowl this coming year.

Just a few days ago, Simmons said he believed the Lions would hoist the Lombardi Trophy after this season. He did, indeed, pick Detroit to win the Super Bowl.

Fast forward a handful of days, and Simmons doubled-down with this beautifully-crafted graphic.

So, that's that. The Lions are winning the Super Bowl. But, that also leaves us with a couple of questions based on the graphic. Does this suggest the Lions will beat the Kansas City Chiefs or the Houston Texans, or is that left up to the reader to decide?

Regardless, either matchup would be straight fireworks.

Speaking of a juicy matchup, Simmons' graphic also leads us to believe the NFC is going to come down to the North.

Bill Simmons hints at an epic Lions and Packers NFC Championship Game

Looking at his graphic above, it appears as though Simmons' last two remaining NFC teams are indeed the Lions and Packers.

Boy, what a game that would be. We haven't seen an NFC Championship Game come out of the NFC North since the Bears and Packers met in January of 2011. Of course, that game will forever be remembered by the Jay Cutler injury, forcing Caleb Hanie into action during the second half.

Lions fans could care less about that game, now, though. They are more concerned about how the Lions are going to take care of business in the here and now. And, if it comes down to having to beat the Packers, in Detroit, to advance to the Super Bowl?

That'll work. That will definitely work.

We've seen a lot of TV ratings and records skyrocket over the last few seasons, but that championship game might take the cake. If the Lions met Green Bay in the game leading up to Super Bowl LIX, those two teams might break television as we know it.
