Coming off a loss in the NFC Championship Game last year, there's only way for the Detroit Lions to be better this year. Last week, general manager Brad Holmes concisely laid out exactly where his expectations are.

"For this season? Win the Super Bowl," Holmes said.

For his part, head coach Dan Campbell wants to move on from the Super Bowl talk and "let's go do it." That's the right mentality, shifting focus to the task at hand as the season starts. The players have certainly heard that message behind the scenes before Campbell went public with it.

The days before the NFL season starts bring predictions from any and everywhere that would offer them. So let's join the party, and go bold with some predictions for the Lions in 2024.

5 bold predictions for the Detroit Lions in the 2024 season

5. The Lions will have multiple players with double-digit sacks

The lack of balance in the Lions' pass rush last season was well-known. Aidan Hutchinson had a team-high 11.5 sacks, but no one else had more than five (Alim McNeill) and no other edge rusher had more than two.

Hutchinson is the easy mark for double-digit sacks this year, and if McNeill hadn't missed four games late last season it's fair to assume he would have made a push toward double-digit sacks himself.

Naturally better pass coverage in the secondary stands to make life easier for the Lions' pass rush. The big question with this bold prediction is who joins Hutchinson with at least 10 sacks. McNeill feels obvious, but what about Marcus Davenport? Or James Houston? Or someone else we're not thinking of? Saying multiple leaves the door open for more than two guys (Hutchinson and someone else) to do it, right?
