Best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 10 at Los Angeles Chargers

Here's a look at some Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Since there are no bets to make when a team doesn't have a game, there were no Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 9. But before getting into Week 10's prop bets, let's look back and see how Week 8's prop bets did.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, 70-Plus Rushing yards (+100, DraftKings): 152 rushing yards
Gibbs, Five-Plus Receptions (+124, FanDuel): 5 receptions
QB Jared Goff, Under 1.5 passing touchdowns (+140, DraftKings; +128, FanDuel): 1 touchdown pass

I don't think we've had a 3-for-3 week on prop bets (or any bets) all season. But after the bye it's on to a new week, and the Lions will travel to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. The spread has gone from 1.5 points in favor of the Lions to 3 in favor of the Lions over the course of the week on FanDuel Sportsbook, as a nod to Detroit being as healthy as they've been since Week 1.

Via the sportsbook noted, here are our best Lions prop bets for Week 10.

Best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 10 vs. Chargers

RB David Montgomery, Anytime touchdown (-105, FanDuel)

Montgomery is set to return against the Chargers after missing the two games before the bye with a rib cartilage injury. It's fair to assume Jahmyr Gibbs will eat into the role he had before when the two backs were both healthy, but Montgomery is the goal line hammer the Lions will surely lean on again as they look to fix their recent red zone woes.

The Chargers have been quite good against the run so far this season. But they're also in the bottom half of the league in rushing attempts against so far, and the Lions will not shy away from trying to establish the run.

Montgomery scoring a touchdown on Sunday is about as safe a bet as you can get.

TE Sam LaPorta, 60-Plus Receiving Yards (+125, DraftKings)

LaPorta has been one of the most productive tight ends in the league so far this season. The matchup against the Chargers is very good, as they've allowed the most catches per game and the second-most yards per game to the position.

The last three tight ends the Chargers have faced (Travis Kelce, Cole Kmet and Tyler Conklin) have topped 65 yards against them.

It's surprising to find LaPorta has topped 60 yards in a game just twice this season (55 or more yards two other times though). In a game that's lined up to have plenty of scoring, the rookie tight end is lined up to make it three times on Sunday. The straight up over on his yardage is tempting, but I went up a little further and found a plus-money bet.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 6.5 receptions (-115, DraftKings, -148, FanDuel)

St. Brown has at least six catches in six of his seven games this season, hitting that exact number three times. So it's no accident his week's over/under on his catches sits at 6.5, and FanDuel has even made the under on it +112.

But it's lined up to be a high-scoring game Sunday, with the highest over-under on the Week 10 slate (48.5). St. Brown will get a sizeable piece of the target pie against the league's worst pass defense, and he will also regularly get a favorable matchup against Chargers' slot corner Ja'Sir Taylor (57.6 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus).

A bet on 90-plus receiving yards for St. Brown (DraftKings, +100) was enticing, but the over on 6.5 catches gets the nod here.
