The Detroit Lions were one of the best offenses in the NFL last year, and naturally they provided some fantasy football value. Two top-24 running backs by points per game in PPR, a top-10 wide receiver by any scoring format, a top-five tight end before he was traded and a top-10 quarterback. In certain weeks, other Lions players were useful to fantasy owners depending on league size, etc.

The biggest fantasy headline for the Lions this offseason was the swapping out of the aforementioned productive backfield, with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs replacing Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift. Based on sheer talent, it appears to be an upgrade.

A secondary fantasy headline for the Lions would probably be wide receiver Jameson Williams' six-game suspension, which squashed the breakout buzz around him. With that though, there is an early season (if not longer than that) opportunity for someone, or multiple someones.

A positive development overall was clearly offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's decision to shut down head coaching interviews and stay. One of the best and most creative offensive minds around right now, Johnson should keep the Lions' offense among the best in the NFL this year.

Using Fantasy Pros' ADP consensus data sources as of the morning of Aug. 16 for context, here are five Lions to target in your upcoming fantasy football drafts.
