With Tuesday afternoon's deadline to be down to 53 players looming, here's what head coach Dan Campbell said on Monday morning about roster tweaks and the Lions keeping their eyes open to what other teams are doing in their own maneuvering.

"We're close." "But we still have, there's a number of moving pieces between here and then looking out, you know, on the other 31 teams. Is there a piece there that fits here? How is it relative to what we already have here? And so we're we're close, but we still have, there's a little bit of flux we have to go through here.""

It's somewhat a "one man's trash is another man's treasure" situation, but good players do get let go based on things beyond their own ability (or the perception of their ability). Teams want to get younger, cheaper and maybe better etc., or it's simple math as the team that drops someone needs room to keep a player at another position.

The Lions clearly have an eye on one position in particular as the deadline for cuts approaches, and an addition/replacement there feels certain. But there are other spots where an addition might make sense, and some early cuts by other teams have revealed potential opportunities.

Here are four roster cuts who could be on the Lions' radar.
