The Detroit Lions have known they'll be the host of this year's Munich game for quite some time. The decision is a nice nod to star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown's representation of Germany - he's a dual citizen of the country and the United States, and speaks the language fluently.
He and his helmet emblazoned with the German flag will be headed to Munich, although it's unclear which team the Lions will be playing. The entire schedule for international contests, including opponents, will be revealed on Wednesday morning at 9 AM EST on Good Morning Football.
We now know, however, exactly when the Lions will be suiting up for this big game: November 15th at 9:30 AM EST, as part of a triple-header hosted by FOX. That news, spilled by FOX's Lachlan Murdoch, pieces together one piece of this puzzle for the Lions and their schedule. This game projects to be their Week 10 contest.
Week 10 is smack dab in the middle of the year for the Lions, which could end up being an extremely pivotal point of their year.
Date for Lions' Munich "home" game revealed by FOX exec
Detroit's Week 10 contest in 2025 was against the Washington Commanders. That game was a total blowout of the unbelievably injured NFC East squad, but it was one of very few wins that would come the Lions' way following their Week 8 bye week in 2025.
This game could end up having some major implications for the Lions this coming year, although it's hard to imagine that they'll be facing off with a divisional rival in this international bout.

They also have an unbelievably easy schedule this year, so odds are they'll be facing off with a team that's worse for wear - the NFL likely wants to do Detroit the small solid of having them face off with a weaker opponent in St. Brown's homecoming.
Week 10 could be a sweet spot for Detroit in 2026. A win could set the tone for a late season push towards NFC North dominance, while a loss could dictate how "must-win" the rest of their light schedule becomes.
Some options for the Lions' opponents in this Munich game include the New York Giants, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and Tennessee Titans.
The Jets, Patriots, and Titans could be interesting choices for some inter-conference battling, while the Saints are the only NFC team the Lions are hosting this year that could be on a downswing. Of course, some real fireworks could be had if the NFL has the Bears, Vikings, or Packers travel to clash with the Lions in this game - talk about an opportunity to give your international fans a true show.
