Entering this week's matchup against the Chicago Bears, one of the biggest questions for the Detroit Lions was whether their offense could return to the consistency that fans have seen over the last two seasons.
Much was at stake for Detroit, especially with the return of their former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as the Bears' head coach. The Lions didn't let the hostile Ford Field crowd down, as they lit up the scoreboard, beating the Bears 52-21.
The Lions returned to the offense that fans were accustomed to seeing in the dominating win against the Bears and proved to their former offensive coordinator that they are just fine without him. Detroit recorded seven total touchdowns and 511 total yards on offense.
The Lions are familiar with scoring 50-plus points in an NFL game, as they did twice last season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans.
Lions wide receivers shine in win against the Bears
In the win against the Bears, the Lions' wide receivers, including Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, were red-hot offensively for Detroit. St. Brown led the Lions in receiving with nine catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns. Two of St. Brown's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, with one of them including him leaping into the Ford Field crowd to celebrate with Lions fans.
For Jamo, it only took him two catches to record 108 yards in the game. Williams also recorded a touchdown on one of those two catches as he took a 44 yard pass from Jared Goff to the house to extend the Lions lead to extend Detroit's lead to 38-14 halfway through the third quarter.
TeSlaa makes another spectacular one handed catch
In the closing seconds of the second half, Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, just like he did last weekend against the Green Bay Packers, made a spectacular one-handed catch. His catch helped set up the Lions to extend their lead to 28-14 at halftime as one of St. Brown's three touchdowns came on the very next play.

The 29-yard reception by TeSlaa to end the half would be his only of the game. The first two catches of his NFL career have been spectacular one-handed grabs. TeSlaa has the potential to have a major impact on the Lions' offense this season.
The Lions will next travel east to face off against Lamar Jackson and another high-powered offense, the Baltimore Ravens, on Monday Night Football. We'll see if the Lions can ride the momentum of their explosive offensive performance on Sunday against the Ravens next Monday night.
