Detroit clearly didn't get the memo about the...let's say, downgrade in star power for this year's 2026 Pro Bowl.
The Lions have six bonafide stars participating in this year's festivities, which is something you can't really say the same for regarding other teams participating in the Super Bowl prequel. Since the game has transitioned into a flag football affair, the stakes are ridiculously low.
And, it's just a fun opportunity for players to show off certain skills they don't get to break off consistently against NFL defenses: their speed, their hands, or even their touch as passers.
These are all things that the Lions' delegation of Pro Bowlers can show off on Tuesday evening.
Lions Pro Bowl group seems ready to have fun in flag football matchup
Detroit's group of six Pro Bowlers - Jared Goff (who is stepping in for Matthew Stafford), Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, Penei Sewell, Jack Campbell, and Aidan Hutchinson - have already arrived in San Francisco for the game. It marks Campbell's first nod, while the rest of the group already have several Pro Bowl accolades under their belt.
Gibbs has already tried to demonstrate how he'd line up against Sewell as a defensive lineman, if that's any indication to fans about how seriously the Lions are taking this game. And, we're likely to get some ridiculous dimes from Goff to St. Brown.

Campbell and Hutchinson are sure to be "tackling" machines in this game, too, although they'll need to be doing that with their grip strength on flags as opposed to actually going to tackle Shedeur Sanders in the pocket.
The Pro Bowl, with its zero stakes, still also acts as a fun rumor mill. There's still some free agent talent for Detroit to try and woo this week while they're all in attendance at this year's game, such as Tyler Linderbaum. This is key charm offensive time for Sewell, even if the money of it all makes it impossible for Detroit to even compete with any offers for the center's services.
The NFL has transitioned away from skills challenges and the flag football game to just the game, so if the pattern holds, we might just get names of Pro Bowlers with no game for them prior to the Super Bowl considering how unpopular the whole event has become. Still, it'll be fun to see Detroit have some firepower for the NFC.
