After a slow start this season, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been on quite a run lately. Over his last four games, he has completed 83.5 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns, one interception and 144.8 passer rating.

Goff fell just short of having three straight games with a passer rating of 150 or better in Week 7 (140.0). But he did become the fourth quarterback in league history to have three straight games with a passer rating of 140 or better-joining Aaron Rodgers (2011), Kurt Warner (1999) and Roger Staubach (1971). Rodgers and Warner won NFL MVP in the seasons they did that, and Goff is drawing MVP buzz himself right now.

On Sunday, the Lions face a 1-5 Tennessee Titans' team that shouldn't give them much trouble. That said, Tennessee has a tough defense that won't be a pushover for the Detroit offense.

Entering Week 8, Tennessee has allowed the fewest total yards per game (272.2) and the least amount of first downs (94). They are a top-10 defense against the run (105.5 yards allowed per game; seventh) and the pass (166.7 yards allowed per game; third). However, based on consistently being put in tough positions by a bad offense, the Titans' are 21st in scoring defense (24.0 points allowed per game) so far this season.

Jared Goff predicted to keep run of proficiency going vs. Titans

As part of his bold predictions for Week 8, Garrett Podell of CBS Sports thinks Goff will continue his recent run of proficiency on Sunday.

During his recent run, Podell noted Goff has connected with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for 21 straight completions heading into Sunday. That led to the punch line of his bold prediction.

"Goff will have a difficult time maintaining a completion percentage around 80% against his Week 8 opponent in the Tennessee Titans since their 59.6% completion percentage allowed this season is the fourth-lowest in the NFL. I'm betting it won't matter as Goff, St. Brown and Co. steamroll their way to another high-scoring victory with Detroit's quarterback completing at least 80% of his throws."

Goff has also thrown for at least 280 yards in three straight games, with zero turnovers over that stretch. Vito Chiro of SI.com predicted he'll throw for 296 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday, while continuing his streak without an interception.

Goff completing at least 80 percent of his passes on Sunday feels unlikely. But the way he's going lately, virtually nothing is out of the realm of possibility.
