After some very intriguing social media videos of Amon-Ra St. Brown practicing ahead of the Detroit Lions' Week 14 game against the Detroit Lions, the team made it official that St. Brown would be playing.
St. Brown is coming off an ankle sprain that landed him out of the Lions' game in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers, a game they had to win and one they lost in heartbreaking fashion. As a result, their Week 14 bout against the Cowboys is yet again a must-win. The Cowboys also have to get a victory to remain in the postseason race.
St. Brown's availability is big considering just how many other Lions players are out for this contest. With him starting, at least, there's some semblance of normalcy.
Lions' inactive list for Week 14 vs. Cowboys
Per the team, here are the inactive players for tonight's contest against the Cowboys:
Player | Injury |
|---|---|
Kayode Awosika | Foot |
Kerby Joseph | Knee |
Tyler Lacy | N/A |
Kalif Raymond | Ankle |
Hayden Rucci | N/A |
Mekhi Wingo | N/A |
No surprises are left for the Lions' inactive list with St. Brown officially in. Joseph continues to rehab a concerning knee injury, but he does want to play again at some point this season. Awosika, who has been starting at left guard in place of an injured Christian Mahogany, is out for this contest. That means more of Trystan Colon, most likely, sliding in.

With St. Brown returning, the Lions have less to worry about regarding their depth on offense, but there's some concern there regarding their ability to get off their pass game if their offensive line can't stay stable.
As for the Cowboys, their inactives include Jadeveon Clowney, who has four sacks on the year and 26 total pressures in nine games played for Dallas this season. That's a huge loss for their defense, which shouldn't be facing a ton of resistance against such an injured O-line for the Lions. This could help Jared Goff and his ability to get the offense going early.
Other notable absences for the Cowboys include Trevon Diggs and Tyler Guyton. Otherwise, the true threats to Detroit - George Pickens, James Houston, and Quinnen Williams - are clearly healthy and good to go for this primetime game.
