First Detroit Lions injury report for Week 8 is about as clean as it gets
Coming off a Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings that gave them the NFC North lead, the Detroit Lions have what looks like a soft landing coming at home in Week 8 against the 1-5 Tennessee Titans. This is where we say anything can happen, but we also know the Lions won't be overlooking a clearly inferior team.
The Lions started their week of preparation on Wednesday, so let's take a look at the first practice report for Week 8.
- OT Taylor Decker (rest): Non-participant
- OG Graham Glasgow (rest): Non-participant
- C Frank Ragnow (rest): Non-participant
- DL Levi Onwuzurike (rest): Non-participant
- DL Josh Paschal (illness): Non-participant
- OG Christian Mahogany (illness): Full participant
- OG Kevin Zeitler (groin): Full participant
First Lions injury report for Week 8 is remarkably clean
The first practice report of the week isn't always the most revealing thing, and this case the Lions gave Decker, Glasgow, Ragnow and Onwuzurike a rest day. But remember that also happened with guard Kevin Zeitler last Wednesday, before he was listed with injuries on Thursday and Friday before he missed Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaking of Zeitler, he was a full participant in Wednesday's practice but listed with a groin injury.
Paschal left last week's game briefly a couple times with an undisclosed injury, but it was an illness that keep him off the practice field on Wednesday.
Mahogany was a full participant again on Wednesday, as he works his way back from the illness that cost him the preseason and put him on the NFI list to start the season. There are now six days left in the 21-day window for the Lions to add him to the 53-man roster, or he'll have to be shut down for the season.
Running back David Montgomery briefly left last week's game with what head coach Dan Campbell revealed was essentially a bruise behind his left knee. It seemed certain he'd had some limitation on at least the first day of practice this week, but he wasn't even listed on Wednesday.
Cornerback Carlton Davis, defensive back Brian Branch and offensive tackle Dan Skipper also were not on Wednesday's injury report after dealing with injuries to some degree last week.
