In general, NFL teams don't love an early bye week. But for the Detroit Lions, if only on the injury front, it was probably good to have a Week 5 bye. When he was on 97.1 The Ticket this week, head coach Dan Campbell mentioned the number of injuries the team has dealt with.

“I think that we had a few more injuries here early in the season that you would hope for," Campbell said. "Look, I think everything happens for a reason and it worked out for us. It looks like we’re gonna get Frank back, and I think B.B. is in a good place. So it’s good, and now here we go.”

After they both missed Week 4, center Frank Ragnow and defensive back Brian Branch are in line to return on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Ragnow suffered a partially torn pectoral in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, while Branch suffered a concussion in that game. Branch cleared concussion protocol, but was a late downgrade to doubtful before Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks and ended up missing the game.

Detroit Lions' final Week 6 injury report is short and sweet

Here is the final Week 6 injury report for the Lions, with statuses for Sunday's game.

  • OG Christian Mahogany (illness)-Out
  • C Frank Ragnow (pectoral)-No designation
  • DB Brian Branch (illness)-No designation
  • S Kerby Joseph (hamstring)-No designation

As expected, Ragnow and Branch carry no injury designation are good to go for Sunday.

Mahogany remains on the NFI list as he works his way back from an illness that had sidelined him since training camp. He returned to practice this week, starting a 21-day clock to be added to active roster or be shut down for the season that he's now four days into.

Joseph popped up on Thursday's practice report with a hamstring injury, but he has no designation for Sunday and is ready to roll. Dan Campbell hinted as much before Friday's practice.
