The Detroit Lions entered Thursday night in a must-win situation. After falling to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving and the Chicago Bears upsetting the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday, the Lions sunk further down the NFC North standings. Standing opposite them were the Dallas Cowboys, who were on a roll as of late, most recently defeating the Kansas City Chiefs last Thursday.
The Lions entered halftime with a 20-9 lead. The defense did their part, preventing the Cowboys from scoring a touchdown and limiting them to three field goals. But they needed to keep it up in the second half.
During the start of the second half, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was interviewed by Amazon Prime Video sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung. Just before returning, Campbell said "we need to get another takeaway."
Well, Coach Campbell predicted the future, as linebacker Derrick Barnes picked off Dak Prescott after a deflection off of Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens.

Dan Campbell manifested an immediate second half takeaway during sideline interview
Campbell can apparently see into the future. The near future, to be a bit more specific. What makes this takeaway even better is that it immediately resulted in points for the Lions.
After a two-yard gain by Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, quarterback Jared Goff connected with rookie pass catcher Isaac TeSlaa for a 12-yard touchdown. One extra point later by Jessie Bates, and the Lions had a 27-9 lead over the Cowboys.

This was Detroit's second takeaway of the game. In the first half, linebacker Jack Campbell, who is having an All-Pro caliber year, "peanut punched" the football out of Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson's hands. That also resulted in points for Detroit, as David Montgomery displayed one of the angriest runs of the year in his 35-yard dash to the end zone.
Maybe Campbell needs to keep providing predictions during pre-game and halftime interviews from here on out. Thus far, the strategy is working!
