Playing the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium surely has a sneaky special place in Dan Campbell's tenure as Detroit Lions' head coach. He was openly emotional after a tough loss there during his first season, so winning the division title on that same field last season felt like a perfect full circle moment.

A win over the Vikings on the road Sunday would give the Lions the tiebreaker for the NFC North lead with matching 5-1 records. A 44-yard game-winning field goal from Jake Bates got it done, and Campbell of course did not mince any words to praise his team at the postgame podium.

Campbell's post game speeches are the stuff of legend at this point, and many will stand as memorable for Lions' fans long after he's no longer the head coach. It's also weekly proof of why the players love him, and buy into him fully. So his praise surely started in the postgame locker room before he met the media.

Campbell issued game balls to Bates, defensive back Brian Branch, running back Jahmyr Gibbs and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown in the postgame locker room.

Then Campbell addressed the team in full, with his typical unique energy.

“Listen, man, to say that I’m proud of you would be a massive understatement,” Campbell said. “That’s a way to come in here -- Everything we talked about, from the time we got to halftime to the way we had to finish it out, man. Composure. Communication. Attitude. Patience. Patience."

“My god, man. You guys didn’t bat an eye. I love this freakin’ team. I love the coaches. I love the players. I love everything about it, man. We are so freaking hardened. Even when (expletive) doesn’t go the way want it to, man, you find a way. That’s an outstanding win. We are 1-0 in the division, gentlemen. That’s one.”
