This one got away from Washington early.

In a game where the Detroit Lions' defense let quite a bit go, especially in the secondary, the offense finally became their saving grace.

Detroit completely ran over Washington's defense by a final score of 44-22, masking some issues with their pass rush and secondary to rout a struggling Commanders team. Injuries have decimated the Commanders, to be sure, but you'd expect a slightly better fight from their defense than what was put up against the Lions in this one.

Seeing one of your best available defenders ejected in the first half will do that to you.

There are plenty of winners from this game, and one very notable loser.

5 winners and 2 losers from Lions' dominant win vs. Commanders

Winner: Jameson Williams

Frankenstein has just gotten a fresh rendition from Guillermo del Toro, so allow us this one time to say this regarding Jameson Williams:

"He's alive!"

Williams had his best game of the season by far in Week 10, going for a team-high 119 yards and one score. He looked a lot more comfortable in the offense this afternoon, which could have something to do with who was helping out with play-calling today. His speed was utilized; he was flexing his ability to get defenders out of their cleats, and most of all, it didn't mean sacrificing touches for other receivers.

Turns out, it's fairly simple to get your talented, recently extended receiver much more involved in your pass game - especially against an injury-riddled Commanders defense.

Winner: Jared Goff

Goff looked night and day in Week 10 with a cleaner pocket to operate from within, and it led to a three touchdown, 320 yard passing day. He was hitting his targets and didn't have to move too much in the pocket, which is a great sign for this work-in-progress offensive line. Goff is always going to be the nucleus of the Lions' offense, so when he has a day like this, it's hard to lose.

Winner: Kayode Awosika

As for that line, a quick shoutout to Awosika feels appropriate here. The guard slid in for Christian Mahogany in this contest to start at left guard, and he did a solid job of run blocking and pass protecting.

It's hard to come by solid guards just waiting in the wings to get their number called, but Detroit feels like that's what they have on their roster. It's a huge part of why they weren't more aggressive at the trade deadline. We'll see if they can hold up against the Philadelphia Eagles' new and improved pass rush next week, but as of now, things are looking up for this makeshift O-line.

Winner: Jahmyr Gibbs

Gibbs notched three touchdowns and 142 rushing yards after an uncharacteristically quiet Week 9. He also had 30 receiving yards, looking a lot more involved this week as a dynamic weapon on offense and not merely a runner who can get you a few yards up the gut.

His speed, like Williams', has to be a part of this offense. This is especially so because Goff shouldn't have to deal with too much pressure in the pocket, and a sped up offense allows him to get into a rhythm more easily.

It was another week that Gibbs broke some records, too.

Winner: Dan Campbell's glasses

Campbell has been using a headset and play-calling sheet for a while now, but for some reason, Week 10 felt different...

It was the glasses.

Campbell was rocking a headset, his sheet, and some spectacles on the sideline as he reportedly got more involved in the play calls in this contest. While it does feel like a bit of a layup to run it up on this Commanders defense, it's notable that Campbell seemed to be a heck of a lot more involved in speaking with Goff today.

The glasses just added to the seriousness of the matter.

Loser: John Morton

Morton might've just seen his job snatched from him a bit in this game. Similarlto how the Lions handled Anthony Lynn's tenure with the team, it seems like Detroit might be soft -aunching a change at OC with how stagnant the Lions have been looking under Morton's control.

It's still too early to say whether this is the right move. Again, Washington was severely downtrodden on defense, some of it self-inflicted. But, it was obvious that this Lions passing game was humming with Campbell at least more involved in Goff's moves today. It's worth monitoring against Philadelphia in primetime.
