Penei Sewell, Jack Campbell, and Amon-Ra St. Brown were the only three Detroit Lions players named as first-team All-Pro team members for PFF's 2025 honors.

Sewell, Campbell, and St. Brown. were certainly two of the best Lions players this season, and despite not making the postseason, they were huge bright spots on a roster full of question marks in 2025. Sewell had a down year by his standards, and still finished up with top marks on PFF at right tackle.

As for Campbell, he entered this season as a dark horse candidate for one of the NFL's best linebackers, and he followed through on those expectations. St. Brown powered through some lower body injuries to also finish out his season strong, recording another 1,000+ receiving yard season and solidifying his role as the team's WR1.

PFF also named several other Lions stars to the second-team on their list, showing just how good the foundation for Detroit is headed into 2026.

PFF names 3 Lions starters first-team candidates on 2025 All-Pro list

PFF analyst Gordon McGuinness compiled his All-Pro list after Week 18 wrapped, writing colorfully about all three Lions players featured as first-team picks. St. Brown beat out JaMarr Chase, George Pickens, and Nico Collins, a talented group of receivers, with the third-best PFF grade amongst receivers in 2025 (90.6).

Sewell earned the honor over Darnell Wright with the Chicago Bears, with McGuinness writing, "Sewell led all offensive linemen in PFF grade (95.2), driven largely by a dominant season as a run blocker. His PFF run-blocking grade (96.8) also led all offensive linemen and was 4.0 points higher than the next-best offensive tackle. He was solid in pass protection as well, earning a PFF pass-blocking grade (80.3) that ranked 10th at the position."

Campbell, according to McGuinness, "was the only linebacker to earn a PFF grade above 90.0 while playing 400 or more snaps, with only Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers grading higher on a smaller sample size."

Aidan Hutchinson and Hogan Hatten earned second-team marks from McGuinness.

These are obvious pillars of the current Lions roster, and fans know that. This list is also a great hint as to who amongst the currently eligible Lions players will be getting an extension soon. Campbell is due up for one, while St. Brown and Sewell are already signed to long term deals. The linebacker is set to become even more valuable to Detroit with Alex Anzalone's impending free agency.

Campbell and Jahmyr Gibbs reason to become the Lions' biggest priorities headed into this offseason, with several pending free agents in addition to Anzalone set to clear up some cap space for Detroit to work with.

It's becoming increasingly harder for the team to skate by with a cheap, young roster, and general manager Brad Holmes has a ton of maneuvering to do in order to keep this core together.
