As the offseason starts now, here is a list of the 2023 free agents for the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions are on a high heading into the offseason. A Week 18 win over the Green Bay Packers gave them a winning season for the first time since 2017, and they went 5-1 in the NFC North this year.

But with falling just short of the playoffs, since they didn’t get the season finale help they needed from the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Seattle Seahawks, it’s now the offseason for the Lions. Decisions will be made. Players will be added, subtracted or not brought back. A run of futures contracts have already been signed, to add some offseason roster depth.

Per Over The Cap, the Lions currently have $27.7 million in 2023 cap space with 36 players under contract. They could franchise tag or a transition tag on any of their unrestricted free agents, but looking at the list it seems none will get a tag. Better to just commit multiple years to guys like Williams, Chark, Anzalone, Brown, Cominsky, Elliott etc. if they want to retain them.
