Matchup 2: Lions DE Josh Paschal vs. Packers LT David Bakhtiari

Green Bay has had some struggles on the offensive side of the ball. However, they have had success in the run game. Despite the fact that they perhaps don’t lean into it as much as they should, it’s a big threat for Detroit. There are two major keys to stopping the Packers’ run game on Sunday. One of which is how the Lions’ defensive line will stack up to the Packers’ offensive line. More specifically, how rookie Josh Paschal will stack up against the Packers’ best lineman in David Bakhtiari.

Bakhtiari has had his fair share of injury issues over the past few seasons, but when he’s on the field he’s still elite.

Paschal will be in for a big challenge in just his third career game. However, we’ve how much value Paschal provides as a run defender already. His ability to set the edge and play with physicality has endeared him to the coaching staff. The pass rush is a part of his game that will take some time to develop. However, if he can keep being stout against the run it will work wonders for the Lions’ defense.
