As you line up your NFL bets for Week 7, here are three best bets to make on the Detroit Lions against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Week 6 bye week was a welcome break for the Detroit Lions, after being shut out 29-0 by the New England Patriots in Week 5. We won’t get into our betting recommendations for that game, but if you must see them check them out here.

Week 7 brings a tough game for the Lions, as they will be on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas is getting quarterback Dak Prescott back from a thumb injury, barring a surprise development during pregame warmups.

The Lions haven’t won in Dallas for awhile, and they have yet to win a road game under head coach Dan Campbell. It won’t be easy to break either streak on Sunday.

With odds via FanDuel Sportsbook, here are three best bests for the Detroit Lions against the Cowboys in Week 7.

Jared Goff bets for Week 7

QB Jared Goff, Over 35.5 pass attempts (-114)

Goff has at least 35 pass attempts in four of five games this season, so this is a sly over-under to set. With the Lions’ a 6.5-point underdog, Goff is in line to push to 35-40 pass attempts if things go as expected.

Opposing quarterbacks have averaged 34.8 pass attempts per game against Dallas in their six games. They aren’t necessarily effective pass attempts though, as the Cowboys have the league’s fourth-ranked pass defense (183.5 yards per game) and they are sixth in passer rating allowed (78.1).

But betting Goff to reach 36 pass attempts on Sunday is not about how well or poorly he’ll play, only that he gets there. It’s an easy bet for me.

Goff, Most passing yards in the game (+112)

If the Cowboys can, they would surely like to ease Prescott back into action. If they can build a lead, as they’re expected to, that naturally will mean he won’t be forced to throw a lot later in the game.

So laying a little money on Goff to have the most passing yards in the game on Sunday feels safely profitable.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 6.5 receptions (+102)

Within the expectation of a negative game script and Goff pushing toward 40 pass attempts, St. Brown’s ankle injury is in the rearview mirror coming off the bye week. He will also have plenty of non-Trevon Diggs matchups to his advantage.

Over 6.5 catches for St. Brown has somehow become plus-money for Sunday. Lock it in.
