Amon-Ra St. Brown does not lack for motivation, but he’s also trying to move forward and stay focused on having a good encore to his rookie season in 2022.

Over the first 11 games of his rookie season, Amon-Ra St. Brown totaled 39 catches for 352 yards without a touchdown. Over the final six games of the 2021 campaign, he had 51 receptions for 560 yards and five touchdowns. That late stretch was capped by a four-game scoring streak and back-to-back 100-yard games in Week 17 and 18.

Now St. Brown will be challenged to produce at the level he did over that final six weeks over a full season in 2022. In a recent conversation with ESPN.com’s Eric Woodyard he said he knows there will be doubters, but he’s trying not to pay them any mind.

"I don’t really have anything to say about the people who may feel like my rookie season was a fluke,” St. Brown said. “All I can do is try to prove them wrong. For me, I’m not really worried about other people. I’m worried about myself, the team and what I know I can do.”"

Don’t let Amon-Ra St. Brown fool you into thinking he’s not greatly motivated by doubters

As his rookie season wound down, St. Brown acknowledged he knows the names of all 16 wide receivers taken before him in the 2021 draft. He also admitted he keeps tabs on them as extra fuel for motivation.

"Those 16 receivers that went before me, I’ll never forget.” “I keep track of these receivers, also. I see what they’re doing, check their stats and just keep pushing.”"

Pro Football Focus’ Doug Kyed referred to them, in a nod to the “Brady 6”, as the “St. Brown 16.”

Even as the Lions look to add a wide receiver or two this offseason, St. Brown will be a prominent part of the equation in 2022 and beyond.
