Coaching Staff- 2/5 Stars

Another week, another bad start. Three out of four weeks now that Detroit has been a disaster in the first half, especially offensively. In the last two games, Detroit has scored a grand total of zero first-half points. You aren’t going to win many games when you’re always playing from behind.

That mostly falls on Anthony Lynn, while he’s been great at adjusting throughout the game his offense has taken its time to start up in games.

On the other side of the ball, Aaron Glenn’s defense could not stop the run to save their lives. Yes, David Montgomery is good, but when the Bears are selling out to run the ball you have to be able to resist at least a little bit.

Certainly, the coaches aren’t entirely to blame, part of that is certainly execution, but this seemed to be a much worse game from a play-calling standpoint.

Final Thoughts:

There’s not much to say, the first half was brutal and it cost them the game, again. If the Detroit Lions want to do more than just compete every week and start getting some wins, they have to prove that the offense can show up for more than just a half every week.

The defense still shows flashes but those are too few and far between to make up for all the mistakes we see on a play-by-play basis.

Final grade: 2/5 stars
