Quinn has earned more time

Aside from arguments that turnover would be bad, many feel that Quinn has demonstrated savvy in landing Matt Patricia, that his drafts and free agents have the roster moving in the right direction, and that he deserves more time despite what results the coaching staff has earned on the field.

Patricia was a sought after commodity when he entered the job market as a head coaching candidate and many teams were hoping to bid for his services.

Patricia choosing Detroit and his former Patriots co-worker, Quinn, as his new employer seemed to run counter to the old narrative that Detroit could only attract players and coaches who were overpriced and looking for a payday, instead of top candidates who could get the team to a Super Bowl.

Of his draft picks, Quinn has managed to find players who contribute to the team, missing on a fairly low number of picks while most all of his selections are on the roster. Of course, he’s only drafted four classes but the early results have convinced supporters that he is doing a competent job.
