Jay Ajayi – Free Agent

Like Kerryon Johnson, Boise State running back Jay Ajayi also fell in his draft class (2015) due to injury concerns. In fact, Ajayi fell all the way to the fifth round before the Miami Dolphins decided to take a chance on him.

And they must have felt pretty good about their gamble when Ajayi posted 1,272 rushing yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry in 2016. He received his lone Pro Bowl nod that season.

But the injuries have started to catch up with the four-year veteran. After winning a Super Bowl title with the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2017 NFL regular season, Ajayi played just four games last year due to an ACL tear.

Reportedly fully recovered from that knee injury, Ajayi is taking visits with teams. The Detroit Lions should be one of them after Johnson’s recent setback.
