Stefon Diggs, WR

Trading within the division is rare, even to the point of being taboo. But the Lions may want to inquire about this one anyway. Detroit’s wide receiver corps is thin, with practice squaders Marvin Hall and Tom Kennedy getting promoted to the active roster before Week Four’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Enter in wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is clearly wanting out of Minnesota. Outside of the division obstacle, this makes perfect sense for Detroit. You want to surround quarterback Matthew Stafford with as many weapons as possible. And Diggs is one of the most talented young wideouts in the game.

The 25-year old Diggs racked up career-highs last season with 102 receptions for 1,021 yards and nine touchdowns. This kid is a budding superstar and the Lions could always use those.

Lions’ veteran wideout Marvin Jones is having a good season. But he is also 29-years old and will be entering the final year of his current contract in 2020. Jones is scheduled to make a $9 million salary-cap hit as well. Adding someone like Diggs secures the future of the position regardless of what happens with Jones.

Next. 5 legends every Lions fan should know. dark

Kenny Golladay and Stefon Diggs could become a very powerful combo for the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford for years to come. With Diggs begging to find a new home, Detroit should at the very least explore the option.
