With the 32nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select…

47. Scouting Report. Defensive Tackle. Mississippi State. player. Pick Analysis. Jeffery Simmons. 32

Closing out the first round (as always), the Patriots decide to go with a top ten player in terms of pure talent and take the talented defender from MSU. Simmons will help to alleviate some of the losses from Trey Flowers leaving in free agency. Simmons is a big defensive tackle who can penetrate the offensive line against both the run and pass plays.

Simmons is easily worth this pick in talent alone and is the exact kind of thing the Patriots do every year. They take a guy who is falling due to injury or some other reason and get great value on a potentially elite player at 32nd overall.
