With the ninth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select…

Scouting Report. Ole Miss. player. DK Metcalf. 9. 16. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver

The Bills need a reliable receiver for quarterback Josh Allen. They got a good slot guy and deep threat in free agency by singing John Brown and Cole Beasley, but still lack that true number one wide-out. Metcalf would go into Buffalo as the unquestioned number one guy in that room.

Metcalf has a poor showing in agility drills at the combine, but when you’re as big as he is that’s to be expected. The bottom line is he has strong hands, can fly down the field, and is a solid (if unspectacular) route runner. He will be able to be used all round the field from crossing routes to go routes to comebacks. At the end of the day, there’s not many corners who are going to be able to shut him down, if any at all.
