player. Scouting Report. Offensive Guard. Georgia. Lamont Gaillard. 224. 50. Pick Analysis

This is the second offensive guard mocked to Lions in this draft. Gaillard is an impressive player that is flying under the radar a shocking amount. He is a strong player who controls his man and never gives up, even when it seems he is beat.

Gaillard was the leader of one the best offensive lines in the country the last two years and was great at his job. He rarely lost control of his guy and showed the potential to be an effective starter in the NFL. Getting both Gaillard and Bars would not only ensure the Lions had a quality right guard, but also multiple quality back-ups.

I could see him having a similar career path to former Bulldog player David Andrews, who now leads the offensive line for the New England Patriots, and is a top center in the game.

Gaillard has experience at both center and guard and could find himself as the top backup for all three interior positions. Adding Gaillard would mean that the Lions would have an effective back-up for all three interior positions that could step in allow the Lions’ offense to not skip a beat.
