Best: W 26-10 vs New England, Week 3

Part of me still thinks that this one was a late birthday present from Bill Belichick to his old defensive coordinator. What else would explain the thorough 26-10 beatdown that Patricia’s crew handed the probable Super Bowl champs in September?

Kerryon Johnson put an end to the ‘100 yard curse’, the defense put the clamps on a disinterested Tom Brady, Stafford played one of his better games on the season, and Matt Patricia earned a much-needed first victory as head coach of the Detroit Lions.

Worst: L 17-48 vs New York, Week 1

It’s far enough in the past that I can laugh about this one now instead of getting pissed off, so that’s progress. What else can we do besides laugh at how underprepared and outplayed the Lions were in all phases of the Monday Night season opener?

Four Stafford interceptions, a porous run defense, an inability to defend punt returns, and rookie Sam Darnold solving the defense after one play helped combine for an embarrassing blowout loss to the Jets.
