Not selected until the 153rd pick in the fifth round by Detroit, many draft analysts had Crosby ranked as a possible second rounder.
The fact Crosby fell so far only increases the size of the chip on the young prospect’s shoulder. And that can only mean good things for the Lions.
Crosby instantly becomes a favorite to be Detroit’s swing tackle, providing quality depth behind starters Taylor Decker and Ricky Wagner. But more than that, the rookie offensive lineman also bring some position flex to his game.
Although Crosby never played guard in college, the Lions believe he has the traits to excel there as well. Throw his name into the hat for possible starters at left guard as well.
To find a player of Crosby’s caliber in the fifth round was a real home run for Detroit.
