Although it seem unlikely to happen, the Detroit Lions could be without their starting quarterback against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions nearly pulled out yet another come from behind victory against the Carolina Panthers over the weekend. But the Lions’ roster itself didn’t come out unscathed.

Earlier this week, Detroit was forced to place veteran defensive tackle Haloti Ngata on Injured Reserve after he suffered a bicep injury on Sunday. Ngata was considering retirement in the offseason, so it’s unclear if 33-year old has played his final game in the NFL or not. But it seems like a possibility.

But Ngata wasn’t the only one to come out of the Panthers’ matchup battered and bruised. Matthew Stafford practically limped his way through part of the game, injuring both his thigh and ankle playing against Carolina. The Lions offensive line has done a poor job of protecting the 29-year old quarterback. Stafford has been sacked 18 times so far this season, which is tied for third most in the league.

And the result of all those hits is the fact the Lions listed Stafford as questionable on their final injury report for their Week Six matchup against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday. Fortunately, the highest paid player in NFL history was a full participant at all three practice sessions this week. That’s usually a very solid indication he’ll play in the game.

Also listed by Detroit as questionable for the upcoming game against the Saints are defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (knee), wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hamstring), right guard T.J. Lang (back) right tackle Ricky Wagner (shoulder) and running back Dwayne Washington (quad).

Lions linebacker Paul Worrilow has already been ruled out for the game in New Orleans due to a knee injury.

On the New Orleans Saints’ final injury report, only three players are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Those players being tackle Terron Armstead (shoulder), guard Andrus Peat (hip) and wide receiver Willie Snead (hamstring).
