Lions fans will know him as one of the core pieces of the team’s defense for much of his five years in Detroit. He never was the standout linebacker that DeAndre Levy was for the team. He had 485 combined tackles and ten sacks over his five years. His presence in the middle of the field was still important to the team, though, and he was also a locker room leader.
The Lions acquired him from Tennessee in 2011. Tulloch started his career with the Titans and played five years there after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2006 draft. His 160 combined tackles for the Titans in 2010 were a career high. He set a career high in sacks with the Lions in 2013 with 3.5
Tulloch notably runs the Stephen Tulloch foundation. A charity set to help underprivileged children in the metro Detroit area. The charity holds events and visits schools around Detroit to promote education and help families in need. Even while playing for the Eagles, he continued his work in Detroit. He earned the Lions’ nomination for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2012 and 2013.
