Even with the additions of Jones and Kerley in free agency the Lions should look to add a receiver in the draft. Mike Thomas has to work on his route running and his release but he has a lot of upside. He plays bigger than he is and has great jumping ability to win 50-50s, he always ends up being the hardest worker on the field and doesn’t back down from contested catches. There is no harm in adding more depth and Mike Thomas could easily be one of the best mid to late round steals in this draft class.. WR. Southern Miss. Mike Thomas. 5. player. 50

50. Bob Quinn has said on a number of occasions that he wants guys who can do more than one thing. Pair that with the fact the Lions still need safety help and a guy like Sean Davis makes a lot of sense. Having played at both safety and corner for Maryland Davis has versatility in his game.. He has good size but can be easily beaten in man coverage and lacks the ability to stay with a receiver when moving backwards. He does have a goof frame and with some coaching from Teryl Austin can get better in coverage. He has a major asset in that he as the ability to hit hard, causing 5 fumbles and can be a great asset against the run as he is quick to the ball carrier. He is much better suited to playing a thumper at safety which the Lions need but his versatility will be what ensures him a roster spot if he is drafted by the Lions.. S. Maryland. Sean Davis. 5. player
